MIST 2003 Ends With The Virginia Girls Youth Group As Champions!
The Islamic Center of Virginia Girls Youth Group MIST Team:

Yasmine Salaam, Mariam Durrani, Omniah Sofrata, Swalha Balala
Mashallah! Mashallah! Mashallah! On April 26th, 2003, MIST had its first Annual DC Muslim Inter Scholastic Tournament. Mashallah, we had 71 participants from 11 different schools and teams. Competitors, volunteers, and judges all had a great time. We got a lot of great and positive feedback about MIST and will inshallah host MIST 2004 next year!
Alhamdulilah we gave out some GREAT prizes to the top 11 winner as well as Monetary scholarships to the top 3 winners. The awards and winners were:
In addition to the Top 3 Champions, the next 7 highest scoring competitors won free software donated to DC MIST by ISL Software, the developers of the ALIM and Arabic Playhouse. The next 7 highest scoring competitors are:
Fasiha won $300 dollars in cash PLUS Guidance Financial Group gave her a $225 dollar gift certificate to Staples and a $75 dollar gift certificate to Borders.
Bilquis won $200 dollars in cash PLUS Guidance Financial Group gave her a $150 dollar gift certificate to Staples and a $50 dollar gift certificate to Borders.
Sarah won $100 dollars in cash PLUS Guidance Financial Group gave her a $75 dollar gift certificate to Staples and a $25 dollar gift certificate to Borders.
