MIST Nationals Registration has begun!
InshaAllah, MIST Nationals 2008 will be held in Atlanta from July 25th-27th. Please check the website frequently for postings of rankings, registration forms, and dates for DC MIST team meetings. All information for MIST National 2008 will be in THIS location.Important Registration Information

The countdown is on and MIST is in exactly TWO days….
Insha’Allah we hope that everyone is pumped and ready to represent their team and give their best for the sake of Allah (SWT). Before we get into the tournament let’s all remember to renew our intentions and keep our focus on why we are coming to MIST (to strengthen our Ummah and build brotherhood with one another in case you momentarily forgot).
Now with the competition nearing in, there are just a few reminders for registration….
1. Make sure that you arrive on time. In your team’s confirmation letter, your registration time was listed. Just in case the registration times are as follows:

2. All team arriving for registration MUST be accompanied with their coach. Registration will be held in the Grand Ballroom of the Stamp Student Union, UMCP.
3. Please remember to bring your ID number.
4. If you are competing in a writing or oratory competition, remember to bring in three copies of your projects for original oratory, prepared essay, poetry and short story.
5. The coach MUST be present during registration and the actual tournament. Teams cannot begin registration without their coach.
6. Please adhere to the MIST dress code. That means NO JEANS and appropriate Islamic attire.
7. Remember to bring in a banner to show your school spirit :-P (Coaches are responsible for turning in the banner)
It is mandatory that ALL team members show up for registration. If you absolutely cannot make it under any circumstances please notify registration immediately. If you have already notified registration, please send a reminder email.

Deadline for receiving Science Fair and Community service ideas is February 4th. Please email us with your idea.Deadline for turning in prepared essay, short fictional story is February 4th. Please email your submission to dcmist@gmail.com. Submissions for these competitions must be in PDF format. Our website provides links to free pdf applications and sites.
Short film must also be mailed by February 4th. Please mail to the address below.

Important Clarifications
Team Limit: This year, we have implemented a limit on teams. Teams can only have 20 members or less. However, there is no limit on how many teams can come from a particular school. This means that a school can have more than one team (Team A and Team B for example or a Girls Team and a Boys Team). Points will be limited to the actual team. This means that Team A points will only go to Team A and will not contribute to Team B points and vice versa. This is all in an effort to try and equalize large and small teams. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us.Home Schooling Age Clarification: Please note that the age limit for Home Schooled students is 17 years of age. More information about this rule or other rules and restrictions.
Knowledge Tests Mistake on Team Signup Sheet: There was a mistake on the registration forms, under the category "Knowledge and Qur'an." There is no "Book Club," InshaAllah we will continue with 4 knowledge tests. This will allow 8 competitors (2 for each book) to sign up for this competition, instead of the 6 that could sign up for the Book Club. The finalized Books will be updated on the website soon. 2008 Registration Continues
MIST 2008 will be held from February 29th – March 2nd inshallah. This is the time to develop your teams and get pumped up and excited.
We have updated the website with the new 2008 registration forms, theme, competitions, and rules. All the competition Topics will be updated by Dec 1st. Scholastic Bowl and Debate study packets will be available 1 month before the tournament (i.e. January 29th, 2008)
