Frequent Asked QuestionsHow old do I have to be to join MIST?Answer: The general age of students competing in MIST is 14 years to 18. However, the ages change depending on whether you go to high school or if you're home schooled. Click on Age Restrictions for more informationWhen's the latest time a guest can register?Answer:Guests can register anytime; from the time registration starts until the tournament. This means that they can register onsite as well. Students can be guests and can register onsite. Student Guests cannot participate in any competitions. They register as part of their school/mosque team but they don't compete.Where do I get my MIST ID?Answer: Your MIST ID will be emailed in a confirmation email right after your coach submits your registration to MIST. All members of the team receive an email that details the competitions they registered for as well as their MIST ID. Please make sure you do not lose or delete this email.Are mosaics and stain glass projects considered 2D?Answer: Yes.Can I please have a refund after I've paid my registration fees?No, MIST does not issue any refunds whatsoever for any reason, even for extenuating circumstances. We do not issue refunds to competitors or guests, on or off site.What is allowed as far as human figures in any of my artwork submissions?Answer: Artwork cannot include faces of animals and humans. Plants, landscapes, and inanimate objects are allowed. You can have hands, feet, a silhouette of a human body, the back of the body, the back of a head...etc. The only thing you cannot have is the face. |
